We were a week late in celebrating Johnny Appleseed, but it is still FALL, and it was a fun way to welcome October! During our "All About Apples" day, each student walked in to an apple at their desk. They were going to be "hanging out with their apple" all day. :) We started the day off by revisiting Johnny Appleseed with a 3-2-1 fun facts sheet. Then we did a variety of science and math activities including apple vocabulary; exploring the parts of an apple, will it sink or float?, which apple is heavier?, measuring circumference, and a tally/graphing survey of favorite apples. We ended the activity by tasting our apples and counting the seeds to determine if they had an even or odd number, and what numbers of seeds were greater and less than the amount they had. It was a really fun day! We even got to have a little birthday celebration for one of the kiddos at the end of the day. It was a busy day of learning!
