Teaching has always been my calling! I would play "teacher" in the basement of my house at the early age of 6. All of my "students" (stuffed animals) had seating charts, lesson plans, and would spend a whole day with me educating them. 18 years later, here I am.
I have been teaching early childhood elementary for 8 years. I graduated from the University of North Dakota and I have been teaching in the fabulous city of Las Vegas ever since. I had started my teaching career at a Title 1 school in 1st grade at Lowman Elementary. My teaching journey continued there for 4 more years. During my time at Lowman, I taught 1st grade, looped with my class to 2nd grade, and have been teaching 2nd grade ever since. I am currently working at another title 1 school, teaching 2nd grade at Elaine Wynn Elementary.
My philosophy of education is that every student can learn, just not in the same way, or on the same day. Students rise to high expectations and from my belief in them. I have a very hands on, higher level, differentiated approach to teaching. I consider myself the front loader, then the facilitator, in our classroom. Students own their learning. Believe, and you will!
