We are reading a story about a "greedy" giant that had a cherry birthday cake made for his birthday and he wouldn't share it with his friends. SO, I made a "Cherry" (it was really strawberry) cake to SHARE with my friends today. We even shared it with our neighbor teacher and friends. We then created our own cake recipe if we were a giant and drew a picture of it. Happy birthday, Hungry Giant! :)
They day before Halloween can be very.... busy... :)
SO I decided to embrace the excitement and we did a thematic day all about pumpkins! We did math, science, writing and reading with pumpkins. We learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin, vocabulary words about pumpkins, we made predictions and estimations and we even go to get inside the pumpkin and describe it using adjectives, we made connections to our apple day (Johnny Appleseed Day) and we counted the seeds and worked as a team to come up with the best way to count them. It was a really fun day, and we learned a lot about pumpkins! |
